Location where you were born/raised? Born - Dayton, OH; Raised - San Bernardino, CA What got you interested in playing music? My parents forced me to learn piano when I was 16. I blew it off after 2 years of lessons and then picked it up years later because I married a musician. Bands you listen to or are influenced by? The Doors, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Dio, Nevermore, Sonata Arctica, System of a Down, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Weird Al Yankovic, classical and modern Middle Eastern music (Bhangra rules!)...many more... Equipment: Roland Phantom, Shure mics, and broken taikos. Hobbies (other than music): Physical fitness, watching movies, amateur web design. Pet Peeves: That guy in the grocery store who uses his cell phone to find out what kind of ice cream his wife wants. I've seen this guy at Blockbuster Video too. Die!! Other unsigned Southern California bands you like: Lucius Guardian; Hindsight 20/20; Viva La Union; The Generation. Favorite quote: "All our lives we sweat and save, building for a shallow grave." Favorite food: Kung Pao Chicken, Sushi, Yaki Soba, and anything Italian. Best or funniest gig story: One night at a bar in Upland I was playing in a cover band, when this busload of chicks from a bachelorette party walk in. One of them starts groping one of our guy friends and basically incites a huge dancefloor brawl. We kept on playing "Play That Funky Music" through most of the fight and it eventually got broken up. The owner was a prick and didn't want to pay us because he said it was the band's fault. Okay, well, it didn't seem funny at the time, but it is now. You bitches better not come to one of our gigs! |
