11/27/11:

On Saturday Nov. 26, Sachi officially decided to part ways. The reasons vary, depending on which band member you ask. I’ll leave that up to you to decide if you really want to know what happened. In a nutshell, it was a disagreement that turned into something much more than a disagreement. I’ll leave it at that. Airing private disputes in a public forum is not only childish, but unprofessional. This band has never been about that.

I will say, just to clear up any misunderstandings, that this has nothing to do with a second band I joined recently. My plan was to continue both projects for as long as possible. Unfortunately, I was unable to keep both together.

I wanted to say to everyone – whether you’ve been to one of our shows, dozens of our shows, or just bought a CD because you heard us online – that we are most grateful that you have been in our lives. Without this band, we never would have met and made friends with some really awesome people. I don’t regret all the Fridays and Saturdays I spent jamming with my brothers in Sachi. They’re always going to be in my life, even if it isn’t on stage. I love you guys.

It’s been nearly 11 years since we hooked up and started this project. In that time, we’ve played dozens of shows, at dozens of venues here in Socal and occasionally in Arizona. Somehow we found time to write and record two albums. And we walked away with an I.E. music award from the most recent CD last year. I’d say we did well, all things considered.

So again, thanks to you all. This isn’t goodbye, only a little break until the next great adventure...

- Melissa

4/25/11: Here's some highlights of the Liam's gig:

1/25/11: Happy freaking New Year! The year 2011 is going to be a great one. We plan to keep on gigging and having a great time, all the while learning daring new cover songs to keep you rocking the whole night through. But more importantly, exactly 10 years ago, Jesse, Jorge and Mel met and jammed together in what would be the earliest official line-up of Sachi. We are celebrating this momentous occasion in April with a night of local music and reminiscing (hopefully we can remember at least some of it). And hopefully we can convince the two other original members - Paul and Scott - to join us for the celebration. And yes, Chuck will be there too, though he might decline your Facebook invitation (lol). I know bands say this too often, but we really mean it this time: This is a show you do not want to miss.

10/25/10: Sachi was named Best Pop Rock Band at the Inland Empire Music Awards in Riverside on Saturday. There was an incredible amount of talent at the gathering, so it was an honor to be recognized among our peers. We have some pics over on Facebook and Myspace. For the record, while Chuck and Mel were at the podium, they did not thank Jethro Tull for not putting out a new album last year. Har har har.

10/20/10: Sachi has been nominated for three awards for the Inland Empire Music Awards. The categories are best classic rock, best hard rock and best pop rock band. The ceremony is this Saturday, Oct. 23 at Riverside Plaza in Riverside. Show starts 6 p.m., it's free and all ages. We're not playing, but I'm sure the bands who will be performing are excellent. Here's a full list of the nominees.

9/16/10: Hey there friends. We've been keeping busy, playing lots of cover-tune shows to make a few bucks on the side, but if you've been wanting to hear our own songs, we've got news for you. We have a show coming up at the Vibe in Riverside with local and LA-based bands. It's an 18-and-over event. And we will be playing tunes off "Planet Gemini" as well as our other albums. Stop on by!

3/08/10: Just a quick heads up rockers! We are opening for Vains of Jenna at the Mill Creek Cattle Company in Mentone on Friday March 19. Our buds The Generation will also be performing. This is definitely going to be a kick-you-in-the-teeth type of show - not literally of course, because we can't afford to pay your dentist. Heh. But you do not want to miss this one. See you there!

9/24/09: For those of you who have had trouble ordering our CD from this website, you can now get "Planet Gemini" on CDBaby.com. Autographs won't be on those discs, but you can always bring your copy to a show and we'll be happy to sign it. If you already have a copy, please stop by CD Baby anyway and leave us a review.

9/17/09: As an indie act, we're always looking at ways to get the word out on our latest material. If we were rich rockstars, we'd had "people" to do that. Well, we're the people in this case. So when the planets align just right, and the press comes through for us, we feel we've done something right. This week, we received a pretty stellar review from the World Metal Alliance, a community of metal enthusiasts who take their music seriously. Reviewer Soldier66 called "Planet Gemini" an "adventure through a full range of emotional highs and lows with styles and moods spanning several select eras of rock's rich history" and "a well-crafted concept album."

We are also featured in this week's Band of the Week in Inland Empire Weekly. See you all at the Ponderosa on Saturday. Hasta!

9/12/09: Well, first things first...Planet Gemini is now out and available on this site on the merchandise page. It is also on Soundclick.com. Keep checking back as we are planning to have the disc available on CD Baby and iTunes as well. For now, sit back, relax and rock out to our one of our more popular tunes from the album, performed live at Jam Bernardino in August. More videos from bands who performed at the festival are available here.

7/26/09: Check out our new video "In the Recording Studio with Sachi"!

7/8/09: After many months of hurdles and delays, Sachi is finally heading into the studio to record its new album "Planet Gemini." We'll be working with Vivid Tone Recordings, based out of Vinyl Red Studios in Ontario, CA. Our engineer, Rich Bruce, has worked with bands all over SoCal for many years, including Great White and Orange County's Pretty in Stereo. Photos and a blog are now on our Myspace page. We'll let you know when we have a drop date. Peace!

6/15/09: Jam Bernardino 2009 is officially underway, kiddies. Here's a little piece of the action. Check out more videos at the Jam Bernardino Myspace page.

4/11/09: A new era for Sachi has officially begun, my friends. We have brought in a new bass player. Through the great website Socalrocks.com we were able to find Chuck Henry of Menifee, who most recently played with the goth punk band, Argosy, and has previously rocked with Inland Empire band, The Hitmen. We are excited to have him because he brings quite a repertoire of cover songs to the table, along with some really great ideas for our original material. So be on the lookout for Chuck. He'll be at our next show April 25 at the Ponderosa in Apple Valley.

3/22/09: Well, first things first. Our show on April 4 up in Apple Valley (the Ponderosa) has been postponed due to another event being scheduled at the club. No worries. We will be back up in the High Desert very soon! Also, we are closer to finding a bass player. Hallelujiah! It's been an interesting few weeks. We'll let you know when we have things finalized. Rock on!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT - 1/27/09: For Sachi, 2009 was slated to be the year of great new beginnings - a new album, a new book, a new tour and (hopefully) many new friends.

Well, all those things are still going to happen, but we met with some very shocking news this month. It is both good and bad news, depending on your perspective.

First the good news: Our long-time bass player extraordinare, Paul Sobus, the man of many strings, the backer of beers and the aficionado of all-things-hot, is getting hitched. Yes, hitched!

Alas, the good news is connected to the bad: This means Paul will be following the yellow brick road to a mysterious far-away land called Ohio.

This, of course, is bad news for Sachi. But fear not friends. Yes, we are sad to see Paul go, but this is not the end of the line for us. We are searching for someone to fill his shoes. It will not be easy, but all we can do is try.

We still have one more show - a proper send-off for Mr. Sobus - in the works. Here are the details that we know so far:

What: Paul says Adios Amigos!, Sachi w/other bands When: Saturday Feb. 21 (we go on around 10:30 p.m.) Where: Carmen's Ponderosa Restaurant, 9544 Kiowa Rd., Apple Valley Info: (760) 247-7727 Cover: $6

11/07/08: Now that Jam Bernardino is over, Sachi is going to hunker down for the next few months, work on new songs and that's pretty much it. We may have the occasional gig before the year is out, but we're going to be MIA for the most part. We may have an announcement in the next week or so. Sign up on the mailing list so you don't miss out. It has to do with the new album!

10/07/08: Check out a video of our performance at the Jam Bernardino festival on Oct. 4 in Highland. More Jam Bernardino performances are available on MySpace.com

9/29/08: The second of three Jam Bernardino shows is coming this weekend at Third Street Station in Highland (right on the outskirts of Berdoo)! Don't miss Sachi, performing with our friends The Generation, Lucius Guardian and Alibi. All of these bands are from the Inland Empire and they all kick ass. Don't miss this full night of free ROCK! After this, we're taking the circus over to Riverside where we'll be tearing it up at Mission Tobacco Lounge for a big Halloween bash. Click the "Gigs" tab for more details.

6/18/08: Sachi is pleased to announce a new event that will be rockin' the I.E. this summer. It's called Jam Bernardino! We're seeking out the best San Bernardino-area bands to showcase with in bars big and small to celebrate local original music. The first stop is Harley's in San Bernardino. Check out us, our friends Hindsight 20/20 and All Marbles. Our motto for this series of shows is that we will never charge cover and never make bands sell tickets. Be sure to stop by the Jam Bernardino Myspace page to add us as your friend. The summer is gonna kick ass!

4/8/08: After a gruelling, but fun week of laying down demo tracks for the new album, Sachi is almost ready to begin selecting which songs will go on the band's third album "Planet Gemini." Without being too boring, we wanted to explain that the band is taking a slightly different approach to producing a CD this time around. Instead of writing just 12 songs to fill up an album, we're writing close to 20. Almost half of those will be eliminated by a group of musicians and enthusiasts (our little Sachi "focus group"). We're doing this so that you all can have our most rocking album possible, hopefully before the year is out. Stay tuned boys and girls...

3/3/08: Seven years and still going strong.

In celebration of Sachi's seventh anniversary, we're posting videos of various live performances and other stuff over on Youtube this month. Enjoy and thanks for your continued support!

1/14/08: Welcome to 2008 friends! It's a new year and Sachi is looking forward to rocking across the Inland Empire once again. We're creeping up on our seventh anniversary! If you're wondering where we've been, you can check us out at Characters in Pomona where the band's been playing regularly. We are working on breaking into new clubs. As always, if you have a lead on a place that wants the type of music we play, please let us know.

Also, we're still in the process of writing songs. Hopefully we can hit the studio sometime later this year. We'll keep you posted.
